Japan's premier comprehensive offshore wind power event
The Global Offshore Wind Summit (GOWS) is a series of international events (sessions and exhibitions) for the wind power industry organized chiefly by the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC). In Asia, these events focus especially on the theme of offshore wind power.
In Japan, GOWS events were held in Kitakyushu City in 2021 and Akita City last year. In 2022, restrictions on COVID-19 were eased, and more than 700 offshore wind power officials from Japan and overseas gathered for a particularly successful event.
GOWSJ event concept
1) Sharing views among various stakeholders for better solutions to the problems facing offshore wind power in Japan.
2) Generating industry synergy between domestic and foreign stakeholders.
3) Promoting local understanding and human resource development in offshore wind development areas.
※GWEC is an international wind power industry association consisting of over 1,500 corporations, organizations, and institutions in over 80 countries. GWEC's mission is to "express opinions on policies affecting the wind power industry" and "develop new markets for the global wind power industry."
